Deb and Vin Chawla

We just took our first big roadtrip from El Dorado Hills up to Bainbridge Island, WA.  On the way, we stopped at Castle Crags State Park, Shasta City, Klamath Falls, Crater Lake, and McMenamins’ Kennedy School in Portland.  Big thanks to Neal and Maya for the McMenamins’ Kennedy School suggestion.  That place was awesome!  Today, we had a wonderful dedication ceremony for Dave and Krista’s daughter, Saylor Joanne Dowdney.  The weather was great and the party afterwards was wonderful.  We also have had a wonderful time running in the Grand Forest and visiting the Bloedel Reserve, which is full of natural beauty and is just 5 minutes from Bill and Donna’s home.  Below are links to 3 Picasa Photo Albums created from the trip:

Today was a wonderful day as Debby gave birth to our second son, Samuel Vinay Chawla!  Samuel was born at 8:03 AM on 1/11/2010.  He weighed 7 lb. 11 oz. and measured 19.7 in.  We are thankful that the delivery was without complications and Mom and Baby are both doing well.  Big Brother Will came by for a visit and was happy to receive several gifts from his baby brother, to which he replied “Thank you, baby” and “Can you open it, baby?”.  We’re now trying to get some rest after a long day, but have posted a few pictures.   Enjoy!

Samuel Vinay Chawla, Birth 1/11/2010

We spent this Christmas at home in El Dorado Hills with Deb’s Parents and Aunt Camille!  We also got a visit from Uncle Dave, Aunt Krista, Niece Saylor and Cousin Patrick.  Will had a great time opening presents.  His favorites were the Bulldozer and Tool Bench!  Here are some pictures and videos:
